Toshiba laptop Keyboard malfunction

June 15, 2010 at 16:06:06
Specs: Windows XP
I have had my Toshiba NB100 notebook for just over a year and the keyboard has started to malfunction. Keys JKL and SDF and the space bar have stopped working.

Any ideas if this is a software or hardware problem. I am currentlytravelling in New Zealand and about to head to Brazil so am hoping it is something I can resolve without having to send it back to the UK.

If the keyboard has problems in more than one program, it's virtually gotta be hardware. Plus you're indicating adjacent keys, which corresponds with hardware issues. Better be looking for a repair/replacement soon (but you should be able to use an on-screen keyboard in a crunch)...

Hi Thanks for response. I purchased a portable fold up keyboard for now and will look at repair or replace when i get to the US or back in the UK.
