I have a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4114 laptop that is about 5 years old, and the fan seems to have gone out on it. It will make a loud noise like its trying to run, but then stops.
Is this something that I might be able to fix/replace on my own? Where would I find a diagram on how to take the laptop apart to try to fix/replace the fan?

Try cleaning it first then call toshiba to see if you can get the part from them and then put it in yourself there isn't alot of pc repair places that work on toshiba's equipment cheap. especialy for somthing simple like that

Try the link below for general disassembly of your LT. There are several pages.
There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

note: on that disassembly webpge they say marked meaning m=motherboard p=plastics k=keyboard you if they are marked this way will remove the plastics first then see if there is anything else to remove you may also have to remove a panel on top to get to some screws for the plastics look for a pry area to put a probe or small flathead screwdriver Be careful some plastics break easy
