Specs: Windows 7 64bit
Tried new ram & hd. Still same problem on battery power & power supply.

Some times it will boot off usb key and start to install of usb Win 7 64bit then reboot partway through install (Not the normal reboot.)

Have pulled it apart. Cleaned our cooling system etc. Put it back together & still same problem.
Fan working OK

Most likely a fault with the motherboard then. Rather than trying to track down the specific component that's faulty, and bearing in mind it may be several components not just one, replacing the entire motherboard is the best way to proceed.

Have you tried to boot into the BIOS (setup) screens and see if the unit is stable there?

May be premature to replace the motherboard at this time.

Overheating can cause rebooting. When you disassembled the unit did you remove the heat sink/ fan and clean off all thermal pad/ paste, then apply new paste according to specs for your processor?

See the link below for proper application method. Use the Celeron mobile method. Any brand of thermal paste will do.

I will take it to the same repairer that fixed our Acer i5 Laptop that had a faulty fan for $60.00.

I will supply him with your posts and see if he can breath new life into it.

Thanks one & all. I'll let you know how I get on.
