I always thought that my CM721F Hitachi has fairly good colour display overall.

But now that i have seen digital pictures on the Samsung SyncMaster 997DF, i'm devastated. The realism of the colour is stunning, especially on the skin tones.

What can i do to adjust the level of color on my Hitachi, the chroma, especially reds, are way too high for my taste now that i have seen better.

Thanks

You should have a color managment button in the advanced settings for your display. Experiment a little. Also, your graphics card may have some adjustments.

I search for this advanced setting you're talking about, it was easy to find under Win2k but i can't find it in XP. Also, my graphic card is an ATI 8500DV and the driver is the default driver that was installed for this card when i first install XP SP1a. I refuse to upgrade the driver because doing so make my screen redraw very slow..don't know why. I'm not talking about the refresh rate here.

Anyway, i will try again this afternoon to search for an advanced setting in display configuration. I remember in win2k a video curve to adjust the color or temperature of color, wish i could stumble on this again.

thanks.

Tom, i just ran each and every test patterns on the link you just sent me.

There are several tests to adjust the monitor but where is it written something to guide me on what to do, i couldn't find anything.

Yes, there are colour purity pattern that are displayed, but i adjust them how and compare to what ? How could i know if the intensity or tint of the colors rectangles i see are accurate ?

Thanks
