hi

as you may already know, i got this toshiba portege m200 laptop off ebay for real cheap, and i want to fix it up.

the lcd swivel hinge is quite good and doesn't wobble at all

the open and close part of the hinge is tight enough that the lid will stay open and not close on itself, but it is rather wobbly and floppy. there is a high degree of bend before you actually feel the resistance of the hinge

my question is:

is there a tutorial somewhere or does someone know how to tighten this hinge?

i've googled, and couldn't find anything

No try! Do. Or do not. There is no try.

First are you sure that the hinge pins are loose and not the hinge mounting screws are loose. I believe that to tighten the hinges themselves that they have to be removed and disassembled then swaged with a smaller diameter pin. then the hinges must be reassembled then reinstalled.

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.
