Why does my Geforce4 Ti 4200 128mb perform so poorly in rendering smoke and transparent type effects? Is there a miracle setting I could use to improve it because playing at 10fps in smoke isn't fun. Pretty much any time of sprites slow down my computer and it's very sad. Explosions, transparent grass effects, smoke, even the glow from lights in Unreal II slow down my computer. It makes no sense at all to me that my card can't handle that, but can handle everything else. If anyone knows any geforce tweaks, programs, other forums dedicated to geforce faqs your info can help. Thanks.
turn off Vsync might help. try turning down the ingame video settings

He shouldnt have to turn the ingame video settings down with the PC he has...I had this issue a while back with a couple games with my GF3, i think that turning off V-sync improved it a lot.
