I have a IBM Thinkpad 600X that Continues to error 0161, 0163. I know the messages are for dead CMOS Battery and to set the Time and Date. I have replaced the CMOS battery, and the messages continue to be displayed. My options at the error are "OK" and "Cancel" no matter what options you push, it goes to another screen that is the error numbers ------> book icon That icon means refer to the manual, I can't find mine. Pushing F1 to get into the BIOS doesn't do anything either. Does anyone know the next step?

I think you will need a setup floppy to reset the CMOS. They used to be available at the IBM website.

Ok, I have found out my problem, I get past my power-on password, and I was not aware that there had been a supervisor password set. The supervisor password is blocking me from the normal time/date configuration screen. Now I unfortinately know nothing about this supervisor password, and would be much appreciated if anyone knows how to crack it.
