Hi!
I have an IBM thinkpad 755CD 75MHz with 40mb of RAM and windows 95 beta (OSR2), the hard drive is 3Gb. This machine have a 8mb of memory in the system board. I have an ic dram card of 32mb. In the past days when I turn it on, the POST give me an error code 00201, and the memory size display 7808KB of RAM and not 40576KB. According to the manual, this error is that the memory built in is damaged. In the Easy-Setup I test the RAM without the IC Dram Card of 32mb, it said no problem everything is fine and windows load with 8mb of ram. When I made the same test but now with the ic dram card, the memory checker said that 8mb are installed and 7808kb are usuable, no pass the test and give me a red X with this details:
DEV 002
ERR 80
FRU 2010
I bought another ic dram card of 32mb is used but tested and working. Unfortunately give me the same results and errors. I think that the memory on board is fine, but two ic dram card damage... very rare!!!!, and I think is the system board. I'm very sad because is my first laptop and is very good. So I think that maybe the problem is where the ic dram card is conected, the pins i don't know, please I appreciate any recommendations, procedures, information, shops, any data that can I repair this laptop or how I can fix this problem.

Thanks a lot
Carlos

I hear that this is a parity error. This is resolved get to Easy-setup, config, and memory. Then disable the parity check if the ic dram card is non-parity. Well, when I try this theres is not a parity check box, only is the amount of memory installed, and the amount memory usuable. How I can disable the parity check in easy setup. please is somebody seen that case and resolve it, give me a procedure or a clue to get the parity check box in easy-setup,config,memory

thanx a lot
carlos
