Are you looking for at bar code printer or labelling printer? Not to many color thermal transfer printers, too expensive on the ribbon. There are some color inkjets. The name brands are running up to $12,000.
If you are making a non production run. I would suggest trying to use a color laser printer and use ordinary labels. Most inkjets are not qualified for production bar coding. So if you label does not have a barcode you might try an inkjet.
I have done product labels on an inkjet 8 up. Canon BJC-600 using a formatted printfile.
