Specs: Windows 7
I have a Dane Elec 1G flash drive with my homework on it.. its telling me to reformat but I will lose everything.

Any way to fix this?

So you are saying you do not have a backup copy of your homework on your PC's hard drive anywhere? Flash drives should only be used for temporary storage/transportation of data. They are prone to corruption particularly if disconnected without using the "safely remove hardware" button. Not sure just how effective data recovery progs might be on flashdrives. Not worth paying for though when simple safe computing practices eliminate the need.

Try to repair the partition on the flash drive by using a utility called testdisk. Be sure to read all the insturtions before using it. Get testdisk at the link below.

Most problems with data corruption on external storage devices are caused by improper removal. You should always use the safely remove icon in the tray by the clock before removing a USB storage device.

As was stated above. it is foolish to rely on only one copy of important files.
