laptop keyboards are relatively inexpensive anymore...I find them between $10 & $30 brand new with free shipping when I search on google.
I would say your L is probably worn out from too much use. Replacing a keyboard is not too hard, all you have to do is google search the laptop and model number and asking how to replace a keyboard. If it looks too complicated, maybe hire a local PC repair guy that doesn't overcharge and have him/her replace it for you.
I have replaced many.
Good Luck

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Turn off laptop and remove ac power and battery.

It may be possible to help it. If you carefully remove the key but using maybe wooden skewers or such to pry it up from two opposite side it might lift up the key and out.

Then use a bit of lemon pledge or some other silicone based furniture wax. (not wax at all anymore). Wipe off excess and push the key back in and try it.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
