Hi expert, I built the PC in 2003, since then it been running pretty good, but the problem is that the pc lost its CPU speed now and then without not showing video signal in the PC monitor; and every time I have to fix that problem by several hard boot. AMD ATHLON XP +1800 1.53 GHz Motherboard- k7s5a pro front side bus speeds- 266 MHz 100/133 MHz ddr/sdr. Please give me the permanent solution!

Not at all....I like to remind you again that it happens now and then; and in that case i have to fix that problem by doing hard boot, and i have to fix the CPU speed manually by entering the CMOS setup. Thanks!

Change the motherboard battery then. Does the MBoard have onboard video and an add in video card too?

MOBO DOESN'T BELONGS TO ONBOARD VIDEO; AND IT GOT ONLY ADD IN 64 MB VIDEO CARD IN SPECIAL VIDEO SLOT. THANKS!

You strongly recommend me to change the CMOS battery; but I have got an opinion before I change the cmos battery;if the CMOS battery is bad, most of the CMOS settings (like CPU speed, date & time etc) is going to be mess up, but in this case I didn’t have to change the date & time. Thanks for reply again!

I took that statement to mean that you had to reset the values in the BIOS. If not, then the battery isn't the problem.
Try reseating all cards and cables with the computer unplugged. Take static precautions. Download and run CCleaner on a regular basis.
