what computer? what are its specs? and why are u reinstalling the OS? did it crash? did u have a virus? and how are u reinstalling the OS exactly? u should go to ur bios and set the bootup sequence to be ur cd\dvd first. then restart ur pc.
Another way would be taping F8 at startup and hitting repair ur computer

computers are a second home

Run Memtest86 to see if you have a bad memory card. The computer can boot from the bootable CD you burn it onto without the operating system installed. A bad memory segment can cause errors or hanging and prevent you from installing your operating system. In fact it could really be the problem that led you to try reinstalling your operating system from the beginning. ANY errors at all is reason enough to reject a RAM stick. If you get any errors, retest with one stick at a time to identify the problem stick. A side benefit of running this test is that when you get a clear test, even with only one stick, you will know that the motherboard and CPU are not causing the problem and that you can replace the bad memory with confidence.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
