3rd master? For it to say 3rd master, someone installed a drive that didn't come with the PC. Did you install anything? If you didn't, I would open the box & see what's in there.

How do you know when a politician is lying? His mouth is moving.

'3rd master' would indicate IDE drives and most boards included 2 IDE channels which allows the use of 4 drives, two masters and two slaves total, one of each per cable. If you or someone had added a hard drive or CD/DVD drive then you may need to reset one or more of the jumpers. You should have your operating system's hard drive as one master on one cable and your CD or DVD drive as the master on the other, but all other drives then would need to be set to slaves through their jumpers. See the back of the drives or their manuals for jumper settings. When adding drives do not use 'cable select' jumper settings that many factories use to speed assembly, set Master/Slave manually on all drives including preinstalled ones.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
