It's hard to believe you need instructions but:

With the power cord removed, open the case, disconnect the drive's power and data cables. Sometimes the drive is in a removable bracket. In that case remove the screws holding the bracket down and then remove the bracket and drive. If the bracket isn't removable just remove the drive's retaining screws and slide it out.

For a laptop, remove the plastic case cover over the drive, remove the retaining screws, lift the drive out slightly so you can disconnect the data cable and then remove the drive.

"I am a technician"

A technician doesn't need to ask how to remove a HDD.

Hi Boferg,

for such queries, you should always advise the computer's make and model, desktop, laptop or what.

Good Luck - Keep us posted.

In America don't they call radiographers technician's?

Or, could be a lab technician?
Pharmacy technician
Dental technician.

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.

They do the same in the UK Clive. But to call ones self a technician on a forum dedicated to computers without qualification, it would be reasonable the assume he meant computer technician of some kind. Mentioning you occupation in a question seems a bit pointless, unless your occupation has some relevance to the question.

But then, it could be down to a lack of communication skills which is sadly prevalent these days. I know what I meant so there is no reason why anyone else shouldn't know as well kind of thinking.
