when i check on task mgr i notice that "ieexplorer.exe" is on 7 times tho i have only brought up l page.they show 36,952 K and the other 24,212K. is that strange or normal. what would happen if i stopped 'processes' on these? would love to find info about task mgr and what it represents. can you tell i know -0- about computer innards.....thanks

Ieexplorer.exe isn't the same as iexplore.exe which is what Internet Explorer runs as. You can go to http://www.justtext.com/processes-t... to find out more. In the meantime, install a spyware program and clean your system. Many freeware ones can be found like Spybot Search & Destroy or Lavasoft Adware.

I've also seen 'lexplore' (Lexplore) and '1explore' (one explore). They're easy to miss even when they're causing problems.

thanks for all the info i will get to it immediately. i already run spybot and spyblaster, but cannot download adaware...keep getting error 1722 (directx?) and tried updated that....still no luck. i'll play for a while at your suggestions and my thanks as always
