hi,
i was woundering if it is possible to take the hard drive out the a buffalo HD-HB250U2? if it is possible how do you do it?thanks
will

The 1st question would be WHY?
2nd, without seeing it, it's difficult to say...are there screws that hold the case together?

I'm not familiar with your model, but most of these "will" come apart. Some have screws on the bottom, hidden in recessed holes under labels or even the rubber feet. Many use "snap" latches on the sides of the case halves---you just need to carefully pry them open.
I've had several of these open, and replaced the drives with something else. Many of these cases will support other drives, including, in some cases, other IDE devices. I've got one older case that wil accept either a CDROM, CDRW, or hard drive, and works fine.
I've have an aging old "backpack" CDROM, which I recently tore apart and replaced the drive with a faster drive. I tried, and "sorta" got a burner to work in there!!! It wasn't reliable, nor fast.
