I resently purchased a Syntax S635MP Motherboard combo with everything including the processor built onboard. I am having alot of trouble getting the board to boot up. I set and reset the BIOS a few times but I still don't get any further than the AMIBIOS System Configaration screen. All the hardware is reconized on the screen but on the bottom of the screen I see 2 lines of text that read "Searching For Boot Record From IDE-0..ok" On the 2nd line it reads "YooYoo". I have tried using 2 diffrent manufactures of Memory, but nothing seems to work. I have also tried to contact customer service at Syntax but they really havn't been much help. Any information anyone might have will help me out alot. Also, when I first powered up the board it said that my CMOS Battery was low, but I let it charge for a couple of days and now it seems ok.
Thanks!

I got the same board recently and fumbled through the set up. Finally I got it right and it's fine. This is all I know:
On page 9 of the book that came with the board is insructions for using jumper JP1 to reset the board menory. Unplug the power supply to do this.
Then hold down the delete button on startup. Eventually the Amibios sceen comes up.
Std cmos is highlighted. Press enter.Down arrow to Pri master. Use the page up button until User comes up under type.
Press enter to auto detect the hard drive. The HD numbers get listed.Press Esc.
Down arrow to Advanced setup.
Press enter.
Down arrow to 1st boot device. Page up or down until IDE-0 comes up.
Press Esc.
Press F10 to save/exit.
Press enter.
I guess your HD has XP on it so that should start and begin looking for hardware. I use w2k and w98se so that's as far as I can go. Hope it works for you. The board works OK on my wife's w98 system.
