I own a net vista 300pl with Win2000 pro cap 12.6 GB.I also own anewer Net vista with win2000 pro.my newer ibms mb died...[i know,I cant believe it either]at least my guru said it was the mb.Any way,ILooove and want my newer HD in my older Netvista??!!I have Win 2000 recovery,win 2000 service pack2 and the IBM drivers disk all for the newer HD,,,can I replace the net viste 300pl's HD with the newer netvista hd?plze advise....thankyou

Why not just install the second drive as a slave and use both. Simple as setting some jumpers and physically installing and connecting.

If you insist on using the newer drive as the boot drive on the old system you may be able to get it to boot if the hardware is VERY similar. More likely that you will need to re-install 2000.

Thankyou for helping...this is my origanal prob we love tofilm from my digital camera,home videos..{good ones]and the 300pl keeps saying there isnt enough room,cause we want to burn them,so we have to collect a lot before we burn...and I have this huge HD just sitting there,,,and I thought,,why not switch?then well have all the room we want..all the drivers for the burner,camera ect are on the netvita drive,so i was afraid to re install...thanks anyway

Just connect the second hard drive up and if necessary, install the necessay drivers to the smaller drive. Store all your files on the larger drive. Still less work than tryoing to get the new drive working.

It has been my experience that Win2000 is not as flexible as XP.
