Hi everyone,
I don't know whether this is possible to do or not with SATA hard drives.
I want to build a power rotary switch for 3 SATA hard drives. All 3 hard drives are connected to the motherboard with the data cables, but only ONE hard drive is selected at a time with POWER can boot up. Is this possible to do with SATA hard rives? Thank you very much for any help

All SATA drives are hot swappable, however, they do require an appropriate hot swap backplane to do so. I guess if your switching while powered down, all should be fine. Not something I'd be keen on doing, I'd just by a few caddies or a hot swap enclosure and save myself a lot of bother.
Completely useless? I can always be used as a bad example.

Kinda like a VGA or Serial switch box. Can be done, but you'll have to custom build it.
Get in touch with mouser electronics.

I really appreciate for your advices folks. To adz929, I only try to boot up a different hard drive when the power is down. I know that there are some products on the market that allows me to do my job such as swap enclosure and others, but those are expensive and is also not convenient in my situation.
