Specs: Windows 7, intel quad core/4 megs
I have currently on my computer AMD dual core and removed the hard drive and placed it in a intel quad-core machine with the same OS windows on it. Blue screen on boot-up. removed everything but the videocard, still blue screen. reset the memory, motherboard and still blue screen. Went in Bios and defaulted everything for the exception of the boot portion, still blue screen. Boots up so darn fast cannot see what errors but do see bunch of XXXXXXXXXXX at the end of screen before it reboots. Ideas?

You can't do that for a number of reasons. First of all is the different hardware. Second, Microsoft wants you to own a license for each computer. If you could just migrate the OS from computer to computer you wouldn't need multiple licenses. Finally, one or more of the licenses may be OEM licenses that are only good to use on the hardware they came pre-installed on.

What was the reason for swapping out the hard drive?

Faster computer. Also both computers have the same OS.

Did you understand any of what I wrote above?

Post the models of both computers or the model of the motherboards if custom built.
