I added a Creative SoundBlaster Audigy ZS 5.1 surround PCI audio card to my computer and bought Creatve Inspire P5800 5.1 speakers. installation wnt smoothly, everything is hooked up correctly, but i HAVE NO SURROUND! front left and front right speakers, as well as the sub, are working and sound good but the front center and rear left and right speakers are not working at all, no sound from them what-so-ever. windows speaker setup is set to 5.1 speaker system but i cannot get more then stereo audio (left and right front, no center or rear)!! i connected everything according to directions, so it should be working but isnt. is a pentium 3 too slow for surround or something? i had a friend upgrade it to 512mb of RAM for me! what should i do??

Are you sure that the audio that you are playing is surround sound?

Halo Combat Evolved. is it not surround encoded? no other sounds in windows or anything are working in 5.1 either, though.

Halo Combat Evolved 'is' encoded in surround sound. I don't think Windows sounds are.

I don't think it matters wether it's surround encoded or not?

Bottom right hand corner there should be the creative icon(Creative volume control),if not it's probably in your all programs menu.

Make sure it's 5.1 in the options.
There is also speaker tests in there.
Have you swapped speakers to rule out non working speakers?
