I know this isnt too much of hardware but need a lil help on it anyway, im basically makin a cinema room, with a nice media pc, im puttin in a 5.1 system but am lookin at havin speakers in the ceiling too, just to enjoy the feelin of sound more, would u think it would be better havin 4X ceiling speakers or 2, if i have 4 i will use them as the front left right and surround sound left and right as well as the normal 5.1 system, any suggestions?

Surround sound is not my thing, But I would expect you to get the best surround sound on a 5.1 system with 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers and a woofer. I would think that adding more speakers would spoil the effect.

Keep your speakers at ear level. I had to help a friend install a surround system and he insisted on having ceiling speakers for the surround. It was the most horrible thing you could imagine. The sound stage was totally off and it sounded very unatural with ambient sounds/instraments coming from above you instead of from the sides and rear.

I concur, ceiling speakers almost always sound tacky - even at a lavishly designed Dr's office ;-(
