sunk down button

Specs: Windows XP
When I close my laptop it pushes down a button that puts it in sleep mode, but it's sunk down and even when it's open it's going into sleep mode, is there anyway to fix it at home or do I have to bring it in for repairs?

Depends on whether you are comfortable dismantling the laptop to get to the stuck button. I'm in the proess of trying to repair my daughter's laptop ... she dropped it and the power port got shoved into the case. I'm hoping that I can just glue the port back where it belongs, but I can tell you that it's going to be a challenge to get the unit back together again. If you like tinkering with computers, you could even find a number of helpful U-tube tutorials on laptop repairs. Otherwise, I'd advise you to have a repair shop check it out.
