Sudden pc shutdowns or failure to boot

Specs: Windows XP Pro, Intel 2.2 Ghz
I need to rule out if there might be a crack ( like a hairline crack ) on my 2002 Intel D845BG mother board which may be causing my recent computer problems of sudden unpredictable shuts down or failure to boot up even though all the usual led lights fire up on the keyboard and tower cabinet before suddenly shutting down with everything off ?

"I need to rule out if there might be a crack ( like a hairline crack )"
visually inspect it, even if you must take it out of the case and go over it with a magnifying glass, although some cracks may be to small to see.
its much more likely to be some other problem, like your power supply.

Yep, there are many other possibilities, such as loose plugs, sockets and jumpers.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
