Are you 100% sure the board is the problem & not something else, like the CPU or power supply? How did you troubleshoot to determine the board is bad?

No, you're not 100% sure...your "tech" is 100% sure. And from what I recall reading in your other post before it got deleted, you said he worked on it for weeks before he determined it was the board? I think it's time to find another tech guy. Nothing you've written convinces me it's the board...my 1st guess would be the power supply.

How about describing the problem again?

thanks for your reply jam, but my tech has tried using a different powersupply & the problem persists,
now since u asked, here it goes ..well this is a long long story.. it happened like this i got the x800 xt & after 2 days my mobo stopped working .
i think that happened because the power supply wasn't sufficient enuf for the card & it would also reboot like every 2 hours even before the mobo stopped working
then i sent my whole machine back to the mechanic who after 1 day told me that he fixed it, i went to his place, had a look myself, turned it on, seemed like it was working & took it back..
then again when i bought ti back, it wudnt boot, i called him up he told me to unplug the motherboard to hard disk connection, boot it without it & then plug it back & boot it again, i did it & it workedfine. then after i turned it off, i had the same problem again, called him up, he told me to switch the connection that went to the mobo from my PSU, i did it n it worked but only for a while
but then later on the cpu would start but i wouldn't see any display , so i finally gave it back to him
now he told me that the mobo works somewtimes & most often it doesnt. n it boots by itself like every 2 mins so since its under a 3 yr warranty the best thing would be to send it back to intel & get arefund of half the money of the mobo. he also told me that if the MOBO is repaired or worked upon further the warranty may be void
PHEW! thats all

IMO, it still sounds like you have a bad or weak power supply. You should have a name brand unit, 450W or more, that has dual +12v rails w/18A per rail. What are the specs of your PSU?

yes jam my PSU does suck, & i am buying a new one soon, should 650 watts of APC PSU be enough??
& just to mention, my tech had tried using different PSUs but that didn't help too

"my PSU does suck"...."can't tell you the specs as the PSU is not with me"

How do you know that it sucks if you don't know the specs? And how do you know that your tech didn't use another PSU that sucks?

Wattage isn't how you choose a PSU. More doesn't necessarily mean better. You do NOT need 650W. 500W would be more than enough, but it has to be a good unit, not a $20 generic. You should plan on spending at least $50 for something decent that conforms to the latest ATX12V spec.

oh ok i know it sucks as its only 250-350 watts (from what i can remember) & its a local brand. i am willing to spend more than $50 for it. suggest me a good PSU also keeping in mind that i may upgrade after a year & buy the C2D & a DX10 card. Thanks

Dude, we deal in facts around here. If you want some help, you're gonna have to be more specific about what you have & what is wrong. It does sound like the PSU is the problem (not the motherboard) but saying stuff like "its only 250-350 watts (from what i can remember)" isn't useful. Which is it? And where is your PC that you can't just open the case & have a look?

You know what? This thread is going no place & never will. I think you should stop posting & just let your "tech" deal with your PC.
