hi, when i turn on my computer my monitor has a yellow light like its stuck in sleep mode and the screen is black. the reason why i dont think the monitor is dead is because when its unplugged from the cpu it has a little screen on it saying something about a video card. how can i get it out of this sleep mode? it just randomly did it today. thanks!!

Most likely it's not a sleep mode or monitor problem. There's probably been some hardware failure that's preventing the machine from working. Try disconnecting all the drives and removing all the cards except video. Remove and reinsert the cpu and RAM, making sure the slots are free of dust. Then try powering up. If you get the emachine screen then power off and reinstall/reconnect the devices--preferably one by one to see if any of them are at fault.
