Hey thar people. My freinds computer has an annoying problem. Whenever we plug in the CD burner the computer sits at a screen saying 'detecting array'

We have changed the jumper settings, bios settings but we still get the same problem. Its on its own IDE channel so I dont see why it is trying to do this..

The system has a Winfast NF4UK8AA motherboard running XP pro and has 2 IDE hard drives on the primary channel..

Any ideas on how to get this CD burner to work? Thanks for any help.

Check the BIOS to make sure there's nothing set for RAID -- it sounds like the BIOS is looking for a RAID array. I can't tell you more as I don't know that motherboard.
