Comment: hi,
I have had a strange memory problem lately,, My motherboard has 3 slots for RAM modules, and it supports up to DDR400+ (i have an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe) ,,the manual also says it can support 3 modules (Max. 3GB) But when i put 3 modules (512MB each) in the slots it's crashing sometimes and also Prime95 gives an error after 3 minutes... Doesn't matter what brand of memory is use it's allways crashing when i put more then 2 modules in the mobo:( So have any of you have any idea what can cause this?? thanks in advance:)

Reply: (edit)the chips have to work in "harmony" and if they are incompatible with eachother they will conflict and cause errors. make sure they are the smae type and brand as each other

Reply: (edit)oh, okay, well like NAN said now it sounds like a BIOS problem. An install of the latest update wouldn't go amiss.

Reply: (edit)Guesss what? Is this DUAL CHANNEL memory you are trying to install? If you don't know, then you probably aren't. Your motherboard only supports filling all 3 slots when using DUAL CHANNEL memory. READ THE FLIPPIN' MANUAL. Rule #1 Good computers don't go down. Rule #2 There is no such thing as a good computer.

Reply: (edit)BTW- DUAL CHANNEL memory is a bear - usually same speed, capacity and sometimes same manufacturer chips need to be used. Rule #1 Good computers don't go down. Rule #2 There is no such thing as a good computer.
