i have this strange problem yesterday i bought a multimedia harddrive ( hdd with multimdeia casing) the brand is chinses and the harddisk is of western digital. now i cased the harddisk and copied couple of movies, the first part was perfect now comes the tv part. i plugged in the av cord and all stuff and finally started the multimedia thing, the moment i pressed on ther was a strange sound tick tick tick tick grunngggg tick tick which was obviously coming frm the harddisk(i guess) i was very tensed so i did sme couple of on offs and then the harddisk started and i saw my movie. now my question is

1)Why did it started with couple of on offs y not instanlty?

2)On the manual they have written harddsik can be acccessed thru computer with out the powercord ( just plug in the usb) but wen i entered the usb solo it gave me found new hardware but failed and wen i plugged it in with the power it was working gr8, now why?

3)the tick tick tick noise only comes wen the harddisk is used for playing multimedia, but wen it is connected thru computer for movie transfer its silent.

pls help me out i stil hv a 1 yr warranty on that chinese product and 5 yrs on the harddsik.

PS: the tick tick sound started after the third day of use. the first 2 days was the perfect days of this .

i have loads of queries

I would return it. There aren't supposed to be any strange noises.
