When i start up my computer, everything looks regular. "Verifying DMI Pool data..." etc. My motherboard doesn't recognize my floppy drive, and so tells me to hit F1 to continue without one. The loading bar doesn't appear as it should, [][][][], but rather blurred, :;:;:::: First notice of error. The next screen shows many things, with random misplaced parenthesis all over the screen. The next screen is windows start up, everything proceeding fine, but with visual mess-ups. My desktop appears with 4, 1 inch.. rhombuses, of squiggly blue lines, side by side, but spaced differently. These blue lines are on the desktop, and appear on every window, differently according to color under them. I believe this is a hardware problem because of the signs it shows before windows is booted. There Was a time when everything appeared fine. If anybody has any ideas or solutions, it would be greatly appreciated. This has been going on for a while and i'm completely puzzled. If you're wondering, performance is not affected At All. The only issue is display. Sure, it's not a Big deal, but something is not behaving properly and i don't like that.

look closely at the top of the screen for the blue parts.

Please help, i don't know where to go :x

Have you changed the CMOS Battery ?

Have you checked that BIOS is showing the correct parameters ?

Possibly two unrelated issues. As itguru mentioned check the BIOS settings. If you have a floppy installed be sure that the setting for it is correct. If you don't have one then remove from the boot order.

Try booting into safe mode and see if the screen distortion shows there. If not then try updating the graphics drivers.

I have not changed the CMOS battery.

BIOS settings appear fine, but there are also parentheses ( in random places. I don't think there are the blue lines art the top. And i'm not positive what my parameters should be anyways.

The option of booting in safe mode isn't given to me when i try.

I have updated my graphics driver to no success.

BIOS recognizes my floppy drive. When i try to remove my floppy drive from the boot order the boot menu closes and goes on regularly, still checking on startup.

I loaded BIOS Settings to default, and disabled floppy disk, though F1 command to continue without when booting still required.
All throughout BIOS is parenthesis still

Same errors as in normal mode Are in safe mode, except a little different - straighter squiggles in the blue squares.

Everything is the same, nothing helped.
Have i stumped computing.net?

Today i booted my computer and instead of the normal parentheses errors it was much more effected: red, green, cyan, yellow, maybe other colors (just woke up) columns up and down the screen, but not entirely. Does this give more evidence for a specific problem?

You are showing the same scene in both links. Is that a wallpaper or background? Is this the only place you observe the distortion?

On another note, hit F8 at start up to get to safe mode. You didn't state weather or not you saw any distortion in the BIOS (setup) screens. This may have more to do with a specific jpg file than anything else.
