one of my systems just started acting funny the other day. I turned it on and the screen wouldn't come on. I got a little worried so i took everything out and tested it on my gaming system and it all worked perfectly. I figured the problem had to be with the mobo, so i reset the cmos with the mobo jumper and the screen came back on and the computer posted. The problem i am having is that everytime i turn the computer off and back on, the screen once again remains blank, until i reset the cmos. i have to reset it each time to get the screen to come back on. specs are

pc chips a11g v1.0 mobo
AMD x2 4400, 2 gig patriot pc6400 ram
FD1500 Gateway LCD monitor
EVGA 7300GS

the strange thing is that this setup has been working for just over a year now without any problems to speak of, this just started happening today.

Ok, tried replacing the battery, still didn't work. Tried four different ones. I even went back and reflased the bios, but still nothing

I would suspect a faulty power supply. Have you tested with another? If that doesn't resolve it then you may be correct to say the motherboard is gone. Not much else it could be since you say you've tested the other components in another working system.

"pc chips a11g v1.0 mobo"

That is your issue right there, buy a decent board, PCChips is crap. But since you already have this pos, I would search for a bios update if PC Chips website is up today.

Core 2 Duo 1.86

Yeah, the PSU that runs it is a pos, but i haven't gotten around to testing with another.

and yeah, the pc chips is crappy : ) i just got it cause it came really cheap with my processor as a bundle package. I'll probally pull my PSU from my gaming rig and try testing it today. If that doesn't work, do you think since the mobo still works maybe if i replace the physical bios chip with a new one it would work? just an idle question
