Currently running two drives RAID mirroring data, no striping. Running out of space on the server. Can you take out one drive, copy data over to bigger drive, then take out the other smaller drive and add an identical drive and increase diskstorage, Is this possible?

Or does it make more sense to just buy an external RAID Storage Drive, like a MYBOOK from western D?

Not sure what you have exactly. Software or hardware or enclosure or what.

You'd have to check your raid array docs. Some will work with different sized drives some will not at all. Some require almost exact sets.

If you mean take it to another system well, still can't say for sure. I'd guess but we still don't know what you have. You can always use G4U and try it or another clone app.

Might be able to set it as a single drive and then copy to.

External nas and usb's are real cheap but worthless if you have no use later other than reconfig.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

If you have space and connection capability for two more drives you may be able to convert the basic mirrored array to mirrored dynamic disk array using two drives for each leg of the pair. I am not sure if or how this is done but I do think it is possible.
