Whenever I try to install my operating System I receive the stop error,
"0x0000007E (0x0000005,0xF748E0bf, 0xf78dal08, 0xF78d9f08)
*Pci.sys - Address F748E0bf base at f7487000, Datestamp 3b7d855c."
I've been working on this problem for weeks!!! I RMAed my mobo, my ram, and hardrive and i tried a different hard Drive. Nothing is working out.-2Gb OCZ platinum DDR2 800 Dual Channel Ram
-Samsung DVD Drive
-Seagate 3.0Gb/s 500Gig
-Corsair CMPSU-550VX 550W PSU
-Antec Nine Hundred Case
-Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel Mobo

I think you have a SATA HDD. Do you feed the SATA HDD drivers while you try to install Windows through a floppy diskette because Windows XP does not have them in-built ?
A better way might be slipstreaming SATA drivers into Windows install media in another PC.
If you already did the above, then change the RAM sticks positions or better try one RAM stick at a time. After you succeed in installing Windows, you fit the other RAM stick and do a through RAM test.
If all of the above do not work for you, then install your HDD into your friends PC ( remove your friend's HDD first ), install Windows XP with SP2 there. Remove your HDD and install it in your PC and do a repair install using XP SP2 slipstreamed CD.
Hope the above helps.

I'm assuming you're trying to install Windows by booting from a regular Windows CD, which is the proper way to do it.
Does your XP CD have SP2 updates included on it?
If it does, SP2 is printed on the CD.If it does NOT have SP2 updates included, you can get this error if you do not have SP2 updates on the Windows CD.
In that case, if you make a slipstreamed CD that has the SP2 updates integrated into it, Windows Setup will probably work fine.
E.g.
Make a slipstreamed XPSP2 installation CD

Well, I got it to work. I just set the timing of my ram to the correct timing and I guess it magically got through the stop error. Now i'm having another problem, my dvd writer reads some of my driver cds but not others(like it doesn't even detect my motherboard cd in the drive). I bet its pretty simple. Hopefully I dont have to do more RMAs.

Whenever you load Windows from a regular Windows CD (or DVD) from scratch, after Setup is finished you must load the drivers for the mboard, particularly the main chipset drivers, in order for Windows to have the proper drivers for and information about your mboard hardware, including it's AGP or PCI-E, ACPI, and hard drive controller support. If you have a generic system and have the CD that came with the mboard, all the necessary drivers are on it. If you load drivers from the web, brand name system builders and mboard makers often DO NOT have the main chipset drivers listed in the downloads for your model - in that case you must go to the maker of the main chipset's web site, get the drivers, and load them.
Optical drives often DO NOT work properly until AFTER the main chipset drivers have been loaded.
If your DVD drive(s) is(are) capable of 16X or greater DVD +R or DVD -R, it(they) MUST be connected to an 80 wire data cable in order for them to work properly.
It it still doesn't work properly....
- you should be able to read any pre-made "manufacturer's" CD or DVD, and CD-R or DVD-R burned disks, but every burner drive is somwhat sensitive as to which media (brands and types of burnable disks) work properly in them, so you may not be able to read CD-RW or DVD-RW or other types of burned disks properly if they were not made in the optical drive you read them in.
- if the optical drive has been in use for a while - burner drives have at least two lasers - in rare cases one laser or the circuits for it becomes faulty

Thank you so much for the gold like information :D. I RMAed my drive out today. But now im having Vista Ultimate x86 problems... To the vista forum i go... :P
