I have been waiting for the past two years for a nice widescreen monitor that doesn't have that crappy glossy finish. Do people actually like that? Whatever happened to the black matte finish and non glare monitors for the best visual quality?
Now it is that crappy shine that pulls so much attention away from what is on the actual screen. I went into Best Buy, Circuit City, and Office Depot and every monitor had that cheap glossy finish. Ironically the only ones without the glossy finish were small 19 inch widescreen monitors. I used to only buy Samsung monitors for their quality. I still use a Samsung 19inch LCD 4:3 model. I even sent a couple of emails stating that I wanted to buy their newer monitors but didn't due to the glossy finish. I am sure I am not the only one who has a problem with how they look.
I am on my computer all day long and I don't want to be staring at bent reflections of myself in $0.25 cent shiny plastic.

i'm with you buddy, i hate the new "anti glare" monitors they put out. there may be less glare, but the reflections are intolerable. it's more difficult to see the screen images then it is to see everything going on behind you.
i'm pretty sure you can still find large widescreens with the older glossy finish. I recently bought a 22" viewsonic without that crap shine on it, and it's great.

Thanks it is good to know that I am not the only one who feels this way. I thought I may be the only one since 99% of all LCD monitors out now have that glossy finish.

These monitors with the reflective surfaces are probably coming from China.
