My Problem is that my puter will start but display nothing, the history is that running ok dual o/s system, i changed the processor and now it would boot up and lights flash on keyboard and optical mouse, HDD is running like it should but monitor is like flashing LED as in off/standby mode . the monitor will power on when cable disconnected from graphic card. have fitted the old CPU and still the same.
no post beeps can be heard indicating card failure. card is geforce 3. could this be agp failure or card/motherboard.
have removed everything to reseat them but to no difference.

What was the reason for the CPU change?

If I read this correctly, the new processor boots normally but you don't have a video signal. The old processor doesn't boot at all.

sounds like the motherboard is ok but maybe whatever hosed your processor also took the video card with it. the only way you'll know is to insert a known good card and test it
.

Alex,

I had a similar problem recently. In one instance it turned out to be a bad power supply. In the other instance, I thought for sure the motherboard had been fried...but the technician who fixed it just removed the battery from the motherboard, tried to boot a few times without it, and then replaced it...and it came back to life. He said that the problem was that the CMOS needed to be reset.

Maybe one of these will turn out to be your solution.

Gabe
