Solved stalling on recovering computer

Specs: Windows 7
other people use this puter.did recovery on win7 and when 3rd recovery cd went in which i do believe is software it stalled at microsoft install 2010...left it on all night and it was still there...then i tried the repair disc and that didn;t work...i did find that something happened in the partition...i have a 500GB drive,,i have an emachine...the partition was split and then i saw part which was100gb...the bootmgr went down 3 times over the 4 yrs i've had the puter,,but i never had a problem recovering the there a way i can recover the puter using a mirror image,,i'm on disability and can't afford to have this puter fixed or buy cd's to help me...i managed to get this puter up enough to be online,,right now its installing 145 updates,,i think the problem is the drive...i got into dos and it ran and couldn't fix anything because a background program was running..i took out the antivirus program..please help me..Thank you Babs :((

You may need a new hard drive. Get a friend to test it for you with a bootable CD if you are not familiar with testing hard drives outside Windows.

You can test it with SeaTools for DOS. Download the CD Image from here:

Use ImgBurn to create the CD from the CD Image, then boot your PC from it:

You probably should test the memory as well to make sure it is not causing the problems. Use Memtest86 free edition:
