Hi guys i'm building a pc for an old friend, he need something new, durable and futureproofed for a few years. He only write letter, emails and general internet so no gaming gfx or anything will be neccassary and i want overkill really so they will be pleased. The machine i am going to build comprizes of the following components:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Socket AM2so that it is dual core and 64-bit, AM2 futureproofed.
1GB Dual Channel DDR667 PC5200 OCZ Value Memory (2x 512MB)
Seagate 80GB SATA2/300 8MB Cache HDD
Antec Solo Quiet Mini Tower
430W Coolermaster Extreme PSU
MSI Nforce 410 Socket AM2 Motherboard (Sorry Cannot Rememember Model But MSI are usually well built and i've used this before)
128MB Nvidia Geforce 6100 Onboard GFX
7.1 High Defination Sound
Sony 18X DVD +/- RW/RAM Optical DriveThese are essentially the specs so how durable, stable and generally how long will the computer last oh forget to add included free upgrade to vista due to having windows xp professional well apart from $12 S&H
My Systems: iDEQ 200T, P4 3.4Ghz,1GB DDR400 Dual Channel,160GB SATA,19'' W/S LCD Monitor, IBM Thinkpad R52 What a Machine IBM/Lenovo Rule, Acer Travelmate 2305LCI

Considering what you say your friend uses his PC for, he certainly doesn't need "overkill". Who's paying for it...you or your friend? I don't know what anyone thinks, but I don't like the configuration.
