Dear ......,
I have a PC xt with an ST506 HDD (with ISA controller card). I want to transfer all the data from this HDD to an IDE HDD. How do I go about it ? I tried connecting the ST506 and the IDE HDD togetehr in a PC AT system, with Win95 on the IDE HDD (primary) and the ST506 as secondary, when I connect both together, the system doesnt boot. But I can access either of the HDD at a time, not simultaneously. Kindly advise.

The only thing I can think of to transfer data between a computer that old with an MFM hard drive and controller, and a newer computer with an IDE Hard drive and controller is to use null modem cable and a transfer program like laplink. I wouldn't know where to start to look for such an old version of laplink that would work on an XT.
