Specs: Windows 7, Intel i7 / 4 GB
I bought a Lenovo Y70 laptop. Has an i7 processor. 16 GB of ram. 1 TB SSDH HD. I bought it largely for making VMs. Also I've never ben a gamer, but this is a gaming laptop, so I bought a few games for it. It works pretty decent. But it is slugish. When I see it being slugish, I check the resources. My hard drive is maxed out (active time.) The graph is just pure green. CPU is barely being touched and the memory is about half utilized. The hard drive is pegged. Are there any tips to get better performance out of an SSHD?

Look here, skip over the installation but look more closely at the optimizations for all systems and for SSD's both:
Edit: Also note that you should uninstall much of what the manufacture installed on the machine that is not really necessary. This too is an optimization, though some go as far as a completely clean install rather than the OEM install.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
