is it possible to put windows xp on a solid state drive? i am buying a ssd soon and would like to put windows on it.

Of course!

I'm curious as to why you're going to SSD? Considering the high dollar per gigabyte ratio, it's not very cost effective. SSD are over $2/GB...standard HDD are 10-20 cents/GB.

Present drives are not as fast as expected.
Also there may be a life issue with OS's that
have large swap activity.
