Niece had a spill on my laptop keyboard - have tried to dry it out for over a week - used air cleaner and still have dead keys - how can I open the case to clean underneath -any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Direct download of the Maintenance and Service Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manua...
The service shows you how.

your keyboard is probably shot..
but i've had luck doin this.
open the laptop.. finding direction to do this online.
Remove the keyboard from the laptop completely
a few screws and ribbon cable..submerge and soak keyboard in isopropyl alcohol
overnite, 12 - 24 hrs.after this i ran the keyboard through the
dishwasher with no detergent but my
dishwasher i can turn to no hot water..
most cant. so flush the keyboard with
cold tap..let dry turning it over and over for 2/3 days
reinstall.
this saved me buying a replacement.if there are any stickers or numbers on the
back of the keyboard write em down or take
them off..alternatively look for used keyboards or
parts machines on ebay.. thats the cheapest
location for them.
or use a usb keyboard ($10) and plug it in..
most of the time i'm using a plugged in
keyboard at home and the laptop is away from me.gd luck
