Was the computer running at the time ?
If yes, it's more likely something was damaged.

If liquid got uder the cpu socket, you'll probably need to replace the CPU and the mboard, and possibly other things such as the ram.

If it wasn't running, was the AC power to the case on ?
If yes, it could still have been damaged - the power supply is always powering some places on the mboard when it has live AC power.
If no, or in any case, unplug the computer, clean up all liquid or dried deposits on whatever it got onto, make sure it's dry, BEFORE you attempt to run the computer.

Did you attempt to run the computer after this happened ?
That's a no-no.
You're likely to have caused more damage when you did that.

If you did that, does the computer run now ?

Unforturnately, the computer was running at the time of the ice cream spill. I tried to clean it up but the last time I turned it on I go the blue screen of death. It looks like I can only salvage the hard drive. Thanks for your help.
