Hi all.
I found a little utility called Speedfan 4.08 to monitor CPU temperature, fan speed, etc. I've been trying to figure out how to determine what the "Temp 1", "Temp 2" and "Temp 3" refer to. I know it's temperature, but what do they refer to? Does anyone know?

speedfan takes a guess as to which sensors are which. You want to restart your machine and go into bios and see what it says for cpu and system (motherboard) temp, then boot to windows and see which two of speedfan's temps match up with them. The windows temps may be 1c-2c higher since the bios doesn't tax the system.
You can also run this program
http://www.geocities.com/btvillarin/Downloads/Toast.zip
which will drive up your cpu temp after a few minutes to help you id which is the cpu temp.

Look at the temps in the program. If it only displays two temps, than chances are the hotest one is the CPU and the other is the Motherboard temp. If it displays three realistic temps, it usually means that in addition to the CPU and motherboard temp sensor, that there is a separate temperature probe (may look like a set of two wires with a diode on the end of it)that can be moved to varios places in the case. If you have three temps displayed, look for the separate temperature probe and disconnect it and restart the system. The one that is no longer working will be the separate temperature probe.
