I'm wondering about speeds of CD's. Is it different because of non-writable and re-writable CD's? Is it different because of the program you have like Adapter, Nero etc? Which speed is correct? I've seen in the Adapter program there are different levels, but which one is right? Is the speed matter because of something else that effect it? I need some beginner info on this. Thank you.

The speed is determined on the cd-rw or CD-R drive you bought and the cd-rw and cd-r discs you have bought.

If you have a cd-rw rated for 48x12x48 and use 8x disks then your should adjust the speed by changing the software to 8x
