Did you bother to check the LG site?

When I search using: LGW4, I get a relatively small number of "hits" .
A few are ads for a LGW4 for sale,

e.g in Canada...

LG 14.1inch Laptop 1.83 Ghz 1.5GB DDR2 100GB HD
Price: $400.00

and one for in Australia that is no longer on the site linked to.

So - the model exists in at least Canada and Australia.

I get many MORE "hits" when I search using LG W4, including for LG LW4 and LG LW40, in several languages.

This list confirms there's supposed to be a space between LG and the latter:

Apparently, not all the LG regional web sites have info about or manuals for notebooks or PCs (desktops).

Go here:

Set it to North America, Canada

A box will then pop up.

Product - Notebook

Language - All or English

Model - enter the full specific model number you find on a label on the outside of the case.
e.g. LW40-J3MU1

If you don't see that, or if you can no longer read that because the label is worn, that may be shown in the bios Setup (or similar) of the notebook somewhere.

or enter the first part of the specific model number e.g. LW40
to find results for all listed models in the series

or enter nothing in the third box to see the 56 pages of listed possible models, if the language was set to All.
Click on Next if you need to to see the next 5 pages, one at a time, etc.

If you wanted to find ram that will work in your model for sure, use the first part of the specific model or the whole specific model number on a ram manufacturer's or distributor's web site (that has a ram configurator) to search with.

E.g Ram Manufacturers.

- the Kingston site lists LW40 Express
- the Crucial site has no LW40 listings
- the Corsair site has specific LW40 listings, but it may not list all possible sizes.

Once you know which module ID strings (part numbers) work in your mboard, you can get them from anywhere you like that has ram with those ID strings (part numbers).

Ram Distributors.

- the MemoryGiant site lists LW40 Express, it doesn't specify the specific ram manufacturer's module ID strings (part numbers) - it may be generic - but it's guaranteed to work in your model.

None of them list LGW4 or W4

"laptop not listed"

You need to search using the correct model number. I've come up with the same info as Tubes...there is no "LGW4". My guess is you have an LW40 & if that's the case, the manual & drivers are available at the LG site.
