Ok so im in a bit of a rut, I lost the disc for my speakers and a friend told me I could download random torrents and it will eventually work, well it hasnt and im not sure what to do. I cant reinstall the sound driver because no audio device is being read even though my speakers are all plugged in. I have Vista and the speakers are made by Creative. im not sure what model they are. they just black and gray speakers with a "bass box" or w/e you call it. help?

Don't listen to your friend. Are you sure downloading "random torrents" isn't what got you in the predicament in the 1st place? Who the hell downloads random torrents? That's gotta be some of the worst/stupidest advice I've heard in a while.

The speakers have nothing to do with it. You need to install drivers for your sound card or integrated audio. And we can't help you with that unless you post the make/model of your motherboard or the make/model of your sound card.
