Nothing beats connecting your sound card to your home stereo system, if that's possible. I have my sound card connected to a Carver amp and then to 4 custom built stereo speakers. I listen to CDs and college radio over the net and it rocks. Before that, I was told to buy Altec Lansing speakers which were ok but doesn't compare to what I have now.

I too have my system hooked thru my Sony reciever and out the Bose speakers. but as for what type of computer speakers.. when u buy them pay attention to the wattage output. And at least go with a 2.1 setup for the extra base sound.

Summary: I want to connect a conventional 8OHM speaker (not a computer speaker) to my computer. The speaker only connects directly to standard speaker wire, and has no connecter. What hardware do I need to get...
