I have a WEIRD Problem; I have 2 computers that have mostly the same Specs except for a few items they are as follows:

Computer 1 (both have built in Video cards)

Soyo Motherboard K7VMP2 (newest BIOS version 2BA1)
XP 2800+
512 MB
80GB Hard Drive Maxtor 7200
Radeon 9700 pro
Sony DVD RW DRU-510A
Power Supply 400

Computer 2(both have built in Video cards)

Soyo Motherboard K7VMP2 (newest BIOS version 2BA1)
XP 2800+
512 MB
40GB Hard Drive Maxtor 7200
DM166D – DVD-Rom
Yamaha CRW-F1E
Power Supply 400

My problem is that both are FULLY updated (driver wise) and both are in the same case. The 3 Problems that these computers are displaying is:
1) When I first turn on the computers they come on but no POST BIOS beeps, no screen display, nothing but the sound of the fans running and the light on. In order for the computer to turn on I have to PRESS the restart Button, AND THEN they come on Fine.
2) When I do a restart the computers would exit windows and just remain idle without restarting. They would just sit there running but not restarting. The only way would be to hit the restart button (again).
3) If I am in the BIOS when I exit, the computer would remain on but not turn on, I would have to hit the restart button before anything would happen.

I ruled it to be the motherboards as that is the only common factor here, but I done a BIOS update and that did not solve the problem. Does anyone know of any thing that could cause this or is there anyway I can prevent this?

One more note is that I read in the manual that there is an ABR (Anti Burn Regulator) that sometimes causes the system to beep then shut down, so if you have this problem disable it. I don’t that for one and not for the other and still BOTH computers do the EXACT same stupid thing.

I am so desperate right now does anyone know what this could be because I am stomped.

Sounds like the power supply...are they the same on each system? Have a look at the label on the side of the PSU...look to see how many amps are on the +12v rail. If it's less that 15A, that could be your problem

I'm stationed here in Bahrain (Mid East) and am having a problem with my box. I'm running XP Pro with the K7VMP2 mobo bundle from TigerDirect. I have an ATX 300 watt psu. The box worked fine when I first installed the mobo package. Now, it won't power on and all I hear is a continuous sound like a dial tone and there's an LED light illuminated on the mobo. Also, when it was working, the optical mouse and numbers lock lights stay illuminated after power was off. I really need my box. Can anyone assist me? Thanks in advance.
