Solved SoundMax Code 2 (ntkern.vxd and mmdevldr.vxd)

Specs: Microsoft Windows 98SE, Pentium4 3.20ghz; 1gb RAM
I have been trying to fix the issue with ntkern.vxd and mmdevldr.vxd for quite sometime, but there was no luck. I have the SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio on my Optiplex GX270 and its onboard. does anybody have a better solution? im out of ideas.

For starters, you have too much RAM for Win98. Why are you even running 98 in this day & age? Your system is capable of running XP & I'm sure if you were to install it, you would have no more problems with the sound. Do you even have Win98 compatible drivers for the Soundmax (aka Analog Devices ADI 198x)? I couldn't find any - only Win2000 or better.

If you don't want to upgrade the OS, disable the onboard sound & install an old PCI sound card that DOES have Win98 drivers.
